No idea where I had my first pint but would have been around 1984. Only ever drunk Bitter unless it's a heat wave. Find myself drinking more Guinness nowadays if the only thing available is a poncy flowery IPA.
All I remember was that you could easily get 5 pints for a fiver. Those were the days..

The Prince George, Thornton Heath and whatever cheapo cider they served at the time (1979). One one my school friend's Dad was the landlord so it was free and his Dad had a very lax attitude to drinking.
Also responsible for my first hangover and have never touched cider since.

not a pint but my dad bought me a half of mild in a dimple mug, kings lynn railway club 1972. i must have been only 12 at the most, dad died when i was 13. he told me never drink out of a straight glass because men don't always wash their hands.

Light & Bitter at the Bridge House, Canning Town 1971 about 1/6 a pint. PowerPack were playing, great band.

Really liked The Harrow, always seemed inviting and clean etc, nice beer garden too. was never the same after they refurb it all and changed the layout.

Happy memories of the Harrow in the 80s. Used to go there with my eldest brother, saturday night before a party, we always met these two girls, one had italian parents and said she was called Dino, her friend was fat so we called them Dino and Pebbles.
Also used to rock up for their famous sunday roast, take a ticket and wait for your name to be called.

Moved to the Channel Islands when I was 12, so my first pint was in a pub called the SeaView on Alderney, circa 1975, I guess.
Probably a pint of Breda (a Dutch Lager that was the regular pint), served by the most beautiful bum in a pair of cut-off shorts a 15 year-old could ever imagine, called Sarah. I spent all summer in there but I was far too young and far too naive.....sigh.

Recall all the old boys in the place bemoaning the fact that we would some day have to pay 2 pounds for a pint.

Thinking about it, probably the Hare & Billet or the Princess of Wales, summer of 1982.
Was a lunchtime regular at the Lamb in Theale Green round the corner from 6th form college at the local Comprehensive - we’d play pool in the public bar and slap the dub b-side of Sofia George’s Girly Girly on the jukebox while the teachers sat around in the saloon bar. Remember the day when pints went over one pound.
